I have two of those Bike cups. I got those during high school (88-92) and still wear them today for baseball, hockey, and martial arts. The edge cushion slides in and out of a jock pouch better than any other cup I've owned. That shape was way better than the "flat" cups that came before. The first time I wore one was the first time I felt properly protected from stray kicks or baseballs :)

I totally get this. The flat-is cups they manufactured in the 70's when I bought them (SOOOO nervous at the sporting goods store!) weren't great. I don't know, however, why you decided that it was cock UP. I never wore my cock up, leaving it in its normal downward position. But I know that lots of guys did indeed wear them up. Unfathomable to me but to each his own.

I have since done what you mention: I wear a regular Bike jock, which pouches my balls, then a second regular bike jock over that, and I slide the cup between and it holds far better than cup straps or comp shorts. This apparently obvious technique was suggested by the men at Nutty Buddy. Sometimes I wear a sport brief and a jock over that or a jock and a sport brief over that. Either way, the cup is held in place.

Alas. I WISH it were only a matter of forgetting, but sadly, society has now said to athletes: no need to jock up. We'll make pants that do that for you. Also, no football player I ever knew wore a cup. It prevented them from running freely and tho' you CAN be hit in the ads, it's relatively rare, actually. It's more important in baseball
Mostly, tho', I lament the disappearance of jockstraps in men's locker rooms. I swiped them all the time from the football players' lockers.

I was a little confused with the flat cup when I got my first one around 1980. I had a jockstrap and pointed my cock south so figured it was the same in the cup. Always been an "average" guy but my junk did not fit into that space. Finally, I grabbed my cock and went north. Then my balls fit into the cup with the one which hangs longer had a space. Since I was never hard during a game or at the plate it worked. Did not wear a jockstrap under the flat cup since it was tight to the pelvic area and even if you got a ball to the nuts the top of the cup had a distance to go since it tilted forward in the cup strap. The one nice thing with the flat cups is if you sat down, it really did not move. The banana cups did have the extra plastic past your balls so it would move out of place. That is why I made the move to double strapping. A regular BIKE #10 under my cup kept things in place and a little adjustment got my boys in place and ready. I found the first banana cup around 1996.Ya I had a hardon with the opening of the box! The smell and the thought of "The Most Comfortable Cup You Will Ever Wear" The box was so 80's!
