Lacrosse Jocks & Cups

Some good cup bulges and jockstraps on these college lax players. I don't think #5 and #11 have their cups very secure though.

It seems to me lots of athletes wear the odious "compression shorts" and, if they play lax, they might wear a cup strap, but this is a poor combination. To start, compression shorts do NOT pouch up your balls or support them. They merely suppress them like the government of certain countries (!)
The real way to do this, and no one does, I suspect, is to wear a regular jockstrap to make sure your balls are POUCHED (or a sports brief might do it), then wear a regular jockstrap on top into which you slide the cup, where it stays put and is pressed against your thighs, which is what you want. However, I'm sure no guy would wear double jockstraps nowadays. I myself usually wear a sports brief with a great pouch and a regular jock as I've described. Hence, the cups don't really stay at their post, so to speak and can be useless (at best) or dangerous (at worst)

Some years back I attended a local college lax game. There were some hot shirtless college guys the stands rooting. I had brought a video camera, the kind with the small screen that you flip out on one side so you can look into it while filming. This particular camera had a feature where you could "pivot" the screen. That is, you could flip it over backwards, so that if you were watching the screen normally but then decided to flip it, you'd be looking at the back of the screen.
If you follow me, you'll understand what I did next. I stood there, 'filming' the game, looking for all the world like a proud dad or whatever filming his kid. But the flip feature meant that, tho it LOOKED as if I were filming the game, I was in fact filming the guys behind me without actually turning and looking at them. Only a close observer would have noticed. So I got some nice footage of shirtless college studs cheering around, jumping up and down and letting their cocks and balls flop.

Some lax bros will wear compressions and then cut the leg straps off their jocks and just let the cup kind of hang over their balls.
WAY BACK WHEN I was in my 20s there was a strapless jock (slightly re-engineered pouch) called “the Sock”. Was fun for exhibition and sexcapades but impractical for sport.

WHAT???!!! What's the point of a non-constrained cup pouch? If they ran, it's just flop up and down and do nothing for protection.
Have you actually observed this personally??

Yeah, those were kinda hot. Obviously meant for sex, not sports.

Having asked that, I went online and lo and behold on Reddit a couple of guys talked about the hanging cup. Insane. No leg straps completely undermines the whole function of a cup strap. Who are the idiots that did that??

Dear "Opinionman", I very much agree with your statement. Not coincidentally, on 9 August 2023, I posted a lengthy message to "Cup supporter materials", and described the exact (and perhaps now antiquated) procedure of wearing a regular/porous pouch jockstrap first, a pair of light shorts, and then a cup-jock with cup (double snapped pouch, Bike - ah, those were the days), and then uniform shorts. I played and coached Lacrosse for most of my life. Compression shorts were a four-letter word under my coaching, and today, between the "Peter Pan tights" and the legstrap-less idiocy of having a free-swinging cup, I have no idea what has happened to Sports Preventative Medicine at all levels of athletics. The posting about the unfortunate young boy whose testicles were damaged is just further evidence of the need of OUR collective group here to continue to educate both the athletic administrations and the parents about the imperative of wearing a jockstrap (and cup) for all forms of strenuous exercise. Once again, thank you for your postings. Mike

100% — and at least half my current hockey team, and teams I played on going back for years, wear a regular jock as the base layer, then either light-weight cotton shorts or compression shorts over the jock, and then a cup-jock over the shorts. Sometimes the middle layer is lightweight leggings or compression leggings, especially playing outdoors in cold weather. Regardless, the inner jock keeps everything in place and under the cup, and cup jock worn over shorts or leggings stops the edge of the cup from chafing your inner thighs.

This is tragic. Losing a ball when you're a teen (or any time). I wish there was a magic way to tell the guy that a dude I had a torrid affair with, who was a jockhound like me but with a bigger dick, had only one functioning ball because he too had a baseballl accident, tho he didn't have his testicle surgically removed. I would tell the teen there was still hope, if my friend is any inDICKation cuz his cum loads were massive.

Occasionally I see a Shock Doctor jock waistband showing over that of compression shorts. Problem is, the fabric of compression shorts is so smooth, the cup jock and pouch can slide around on top of it. But most of them seem to be wearing it in the cup pocket of the compression shorts. I've found the fabric underneath often stretches across the cup opening, lifting it off my body.

The cup in a traditional jock as the very bottom layer, with the compression shorts over that really holds it solidly in place. I think that's the best option.

When I played for one year in HS I wore compression short with jock under it Mic David jock and Mic David cmp short. I pointed down. lacrosse short over it. That was told to us by team coach. My balls and manhood in was in place . I was glad a wrestling teammate gave me a Mic David jock for wrestling, I have 3 of them I wearing the one in one given to me. Amen brother. I lost count of the number of men I fucked in the Corps who were monoballed, but all of them blew bucketloads. Most of them were beyond apologies and had gotten over it, some arrogant. “Yeah, I’d match my load against whatever you pump up me with those big nuts of yours!” (He ate his words — literally - when I scooped and ate my load out of him after nailing him and he acknowledged that even though he’d blown a huge wad during the fuck, I’d bested him in volume! But again tonight I digress . . . ) Young men need support of men when they have events like losing a nut or anything else that threatens their manhood and confidence — it’s our duty to do everything we can! 😈🐷

What the living FUCK has become of our society that young men don’t get the training and guidance of older men in how to take care of themselves? Coaches, dads, uncles and older brothers should be able to be impeached for not doing their duty to their fellow (younger) men!

YEAH! Some of those pix show a CUP dangerously TILTED UPWARD. The only place for that guy's «jewels» to go was DOWN and OUT. MY experience as a Hockey Goalie (spending not a little time back-to-the-ice and vulnerable) is (1) a snug fitting POUCH (jock or contour-brief) to keep everything safely CONTAINED; then (2) the CUP — properly SIZED (and finding one can be a major problem), then (3) some SECURE arrangement to keep the CUP where it needs to be; that could be a well-designed and well-fitting cup-holder JOCK, or, there ARE some models of Compression Shorts which actually do a very good job of keeping a CUP in its protective position. Engineering all of that while depending on the mostly JUNK products sold by big-box retailers can be a major challenge especially for non-Americans who have scant (and very COSTLY) access to quality protective equipment. Ayyyyy-[wo]men! and BTW I l-o-v-e the description ODIOUS!

The PROBLEM is that there is so much tawdry JUNK being touted in high-price adversising by big-box stores and sleazy gear manufacturers whose only concern is maximising PROFIT that finding DECENT protective gear like properly-sized CUPS and pouches (jock- or brief-) is an exercise in frustration and unless the boy/man is exceptionally sharp about the FIT they inevitable end up with CRAP. What is really needed is a unit in Middle School «Family Life» courses where there is INFORMED discussion of the importance of protecting now-blossoming «Family Jewels» and how important it is to protect them, and what PROPER protection consists of. If they can have hands-on lessons in CONDOM-fitting.... The internet's «parenting» and «amateur sports» websites and blogs are overloaded with BAD (actually DANGEROUS) «advice». I try to correct these whenver I stumble on them but I really doubt they're ever corrected. It's a miracle there aren't more disasters — or are they just considered «embarrassing» like the media's «lower body injuries» and HIDDEN.

Unfortunately in 2023, are many places in the US where parents don’t want this kind of stuff taught in schools. They insist they can do it at home, but it‘s clearly not happening. There seems to be an odd connection between genital/body/sexual health and equating it with promoting sexual behavior (???). The stranger danger with its accusations of sexual misconduct and/or perversion are very real and rampant. Helicopter parents aren’t doing their kids any favors. I wonder how things turned out with that lad who lost his testicle. They cynical part of me has one parent accusing the other, blaming the organization, or threatening lawsuits. If so, they’re all missing the bigger picture with an easy solution. 🤷 Just a thought.

Yeah, the Religious Right and others of that ilk would prefer abject IGNORANCE (like themselves) to any kind of ENLIGHTENMENT. And of course the only «truth» comes from the mouth of their «pastor» who more often than not hasn't even the basic concept of Critical Thinking and whose sole source of «wisdom» is a book whose contents are highly contradictory, a product of countless «revisions» coloured by the prevailing mores of their time, and, as my father oft opined: The Bible is like a mirror; if a fool looks in he gets a perfect reflection. So «America», one of the richest countries in the world, has some of the lowest levels of academic achievement, one of the highest levels of death due to preventable causes (including insane GUN DEATHS) — errr.. is it any wonder boys lose their testicles to preventable injuries. I wonder what the promoters of «barefoot & pregnant» have to say about that?
