Also, I can't read every post on here , you guys are just so prolific and that's a good thing. So I ask for your help in letting me know (through a private Conversation) if you think a post is verging on dangerous territory. It doesn't mean I'll just remove it but I'll be able to assess the post.

Thanks for the general and gentle reminder, John. It’s good to focus everyone’s attention that even if t story is a real encounter from many years ago and it’s about a sexual encounter you as the writer had, you can still fall foul of the law in your country.
i must admit that I’ve looked at some of the video links posted on here and occasionally wondered just how old some of the ‘twinkier‘ looking participants are. I quickly click off them.

Thanks. I will read the book as I'm really enjoying the show. I particularly love the sexy scenes, even though there isn't any full-frontal nudity, I think Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey being gay lends a lot of authenticity to the scenes.

i must admit that I’ve looked at some of the video links posted on here and occasionally wondered just how old some of the ‘twinkier‘ looking participants are. I quickly click off them.

Personally, I'm not worried about the porn studio's videos. As someone who owned an adult website that produced amateur porn for 12 years at the same time the US Government came out with the VERY strict 2257 rules, I know the hoops the studios have to jump through to ensure their "actors" are of age - including very specific rules on maintaining and storing of supporting documents.

I think their performances are great, but I have to say that I don’t believe that gay roles have to be played by gay actors for them to be believable (or straight roles by straight actors, for the same reason). I believe the authenticity (as it appeals to us but is embellished from the actual history of Mallon’s book) is the result of the gay producers’ writing, which panders to our desire for the salacious and exaggeration of the characters.

Sorry if we’ve inadvertently offended you @Thomas_C, but like most languages the context dictates given that most words have many meanings. Being a dad, I’d beat to death any man who molested a minor, and I don’t find that particular kink to have any validity whatsoever.

That’s the difference between the UK and America, Tom.
As George Bernard Shaw allegedly said, ‘Two countries separated by a common language.’
If the word ‘boys’ is preceded by the word ‘gay’ - gay boys - it can be used as a mild to severe insult depending on the way it’s said and what adjective precedes it as in ‘fucking gay boy(s)’, or, as a couple of very close lesbian friends of ours say in a wonderfully camp mickey take, ‘Oooh, you gay boys. You’re bickering over who loads the dishwasher again’. That’s a term of friendship.
For me, it only becomes an insult if I let it, which is not very often now.

They used their power, fame and contacts (Thatcher in Saville’s case and, going one better in Harris’s case The Queen, although she had no knowledge of anything) to hide in plain sight.
Unfortunately everything came to light after Saville died, so he couldn’t be prosecuted, or stripped of his knighthood for services to charity, and then Harris and other TV slebs were investigated and a lot of them charged. Harris went to jail denying everything and he died in jail still denying everything.

Thank you for looking out for everybody's best interest. Sometimes (in the «heat of the moment» so to speak) we can get carried away and simply not tweak to the possible interpretation of what we write. Just the mention of the word «boy» is often enough to launch a witch-hunt even if what was intended was a compliment to a very young-looking ADULT man.
