Speedos

Speedos are not so popular in North America for some reason but when is as in France and South America they were very common. It felt good to wear one!

I had several postings in Europe in the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000’s. Pools, beaches, anywhere men were in swimsuits 90% of the time it was a Speedo bikini style for European, South American, Australian and Asian men. (Can’t say I knew what African men chose.) I didn’t have any swimsuit then much less one like that. I wore my silkies (over a jockstrap of course) until I went to buy one in Belgium. The bikini style Speedo wasn’t for me — two pounds of flour in a one pound bag, as we said in the south. But I found square cut style aka box cut style. I swim every day of my life, and if I’m swimming somewhere that I need a suit, it’s still and will be a square cut Speedo.

I live in Florida, and have about 25 bathing suits. Only 3 are Speedo style ones, but again, the States are a little more modest when it comes to public swimming places. I would like to try a square cut though…. I’ve never owned one, but have always admired guys wearing them.

The biggest advantage to me is more fabric area to carry the goods without unexpected flashes. I’ve literally fallen out of the bikini style Speedos; they should license the Andrew Christian pouch patent.

That makes a lot of sense. I have a few jocks that don’t fully cover the goods when I put them on.

I wear all swim briefs and I think more guys should just take the plunge and do that and the same with jockstraps you likely meet a like minded bud or be thought of as the alpha who is not concerned with being one of the many nameless faceless.

Yup. More than several here that are unwearable without that discomfort. We often use those as retreads (pronounced re-trades LOL).
