Our fellow member @engjock sent me a message suggesting the addition of a new forum category on men's health (physical, mental and sexual). I thought it was a great idea so we now have a Men's Health forum category. It's in the General Chat area of the forums (scroll down the page) or here's a direct link:

As many of us are middle-aged and older and dealing with health issues I thought it was an awesome idea and something we can all benefit from. And for our more youthful members, if you have questions or concerns or simply want a safe space to talk about health and sexual health, then this is for you as well.

The new forum category is a place where we can share advice, complain about our aches and pains (lol!) and maybe talk about all the "taboo" issues that men have to deal with. Things like erectile dysfunction, STD's, crabs, prostate exams, colonoscopy, arthritis, doctor's visit decorum, cock size, masturbation techniques, etc...

So check out the new forum category and remember there are no bad, silly or stupid questions or topics.

John.

Great idea. Would anyone be interested in a video ask the doc session where general health and mental health questions are answered. If so where should something like this be “hosted”? Questions can come from the posts as well as in person.

Oh I will totally do a prepared covid infodump thread so that anytime I'm tempted to all caps scream about it and rip my hair out I can instead calmly copy & paste a link. Relatedly to reference information, for my own notes and documentation I have been trying to do a low effort entry into markdown formatting and /or lowkey html so that I can do things like targeted # TableOfContents section links, @Jockstrapguy what's this site's page renderer use generally for user posts, and do you happen to have any suggestions on a weblink to any given labeled section of a post?

Sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure what it is exactly? Is this a service that's already established? Is it a website? Or simply a video that you'd like to post?

Perhaps we can chat through a Conversation (private message) and see what we can come up with.

Yes, we all have our health issues to deal with. Lord knows these past 8 years have been fun(NOT). First dealing with high Blood Pressure(which I never had). That day it was 219/126. Put on SOOOO Many, the pharmacist said not to take that many, it woulld kill me. And my cholesterol was high. Plus my weight was the highest ever. Took awhile to get the BP down to better numbers. Slowly the amount of pills dropped. I currently take 1 and that is to keep it steady. Knock on wood, no more high BP. And I take a pill for cholesterol to keep it steady. It's not high. While dealing with that. I ate a salad at a local place, which was contaminated by humans somwhere. Immediatley felt strange. Being a old man, shrugged it off. Finally went to urgent care. Gave me an antibiotic. 4 days later, while at work the left side of the large room went black. I lost my eye sight in it. They didn't understand at work what was happening. I actually drove to the hospital. Couldn't see if that eye or see the cars in that lane. But as so as I got there they said that I was having a stroke. Took my right in. While there I started seeing again. Luckily it didn't get worse. Kept me 3 days, on that day was told I had tested positive for a deadly disease and they needed to start giving me something for it. Nurse came back and then told I was beeing discharge. Was strange, just told me I had a deadly disease and now being sent home. Prescribed 56 pills, was over 1,200 for them. Luckily had insurance to help. Since I was home, read on internet about this. Thought for sure I was gonna die and soon. Thought thats why they sent me home. The first pills were Cipro. NEVER take them. A very strong antibiotic. It works, but it cleans your inside completely and the bad stuff comes back and the other antibiotic must stop it or your gone. The 3 years was dealing with the after effects from it. Gladly not the serious things. Didn't have any ruptured tendons, but had strained tendons in arms, elbow, legs and ribs. Only thing I lost was my Gallbladder. 4 months later. Then Thanksgiving of 2021, I got Covid from a co-worker who thought he was above everyone and didn't need to do the things to help prevent the spread. And thought it was funny that he took out several people. I was one of them. First thing I thought , it was gonna bring what I had. No way I was gonna beat it twice. Missed the last 27 days of November and 29 days of December. Missed that month from a cough. Was cleared on December first. They were stricter then. And when I was told I had it. I told a family I need to make a will. My one grandfather was a certain age when he died, my other grandfather died and he was 2 years younger, my dad was 2 years younger than him and I was 2 years younger than my dad. So I thought I was following. 3 months later is when I really decided to do something serious about my weight. Finish loosing it and get better. That is when I had gynecomastia. Surgically and laser removing male boobs. I am currently at 151. Lost almost 70 pounds. Haven't been this weight since maybe 6th grade. Damn, talk about rambling. Guess I proved to myself I can achieve something out of this horrible 8 years. Hope everyone can get through theirs as well.

that's quite a doozy. covid recovery and fluoroquinolone (ciprofloxacin et al) recovery are no joke. They need to not prescribe that without serious warnings about both the biotic hazard and the connective tissue damage, a positive test result, and probably not without trying another antibiotic first.
